This is a message from the City of Peekskill Mayors office. Water Department Officials are aware of the recent change in the taste and odor of the drinking water. On Thursday we identified the cause as an algae bloom which occurred following the heavy rains of the past three weeks. Our reservoir was treated for this condition but It will take 3 to 4 days for the treatment process to take effect. During this time the water is completely safe to consume. We apologize for this inconvenience.
